EcoSolar is the solar water division of Energy Conscious Design, New Zealand's leading solar water heating design engineers. Energy Conscious Design was established in 2003. In 2007 Energy Conscious Design was split in to two divisions; the engineering design stayed as Energy Conscious Design and the solar water heating supplier and installation division became EcoSolar.

People

Ian Sumner - CEng. MCIBSE, CPEng, MIPENZ, IntPE

Ian is the Technical Director and provides engineering design for all three divisions, Energy Conscious Design, EcoSolar and SPLASH Monitoring. Ian is a Chartered Building Services Engineer and is recognised as New Zealand's leading solar water heating design engineer. Ian works with the client to ensure the solutions match their needs and has an ability to provide simple, effective solutions to challenging problems.

Ian was initially a plumber in the UK and returned to University, graduating in 1996 with a First Class Honours degree in Energy Engineering, energy conservation in buildings and mechanical building services with projects completed on trying to get solar water heating to be cost effective in the UK. Ian worked with BRECSU, the Building Research Energy Conservation Support Unit in the UK, before emigrating to New Zealand working as a Mechanical Building Services Engineer and then establishing Energy Conscious Design in 2003.

Donnelle Pilcher - Financial Director

Donnelle manages all three divisions of the company as well as the day to day management of the office. Donnelle is also the face for customer services and financial control.

David Hoy - Accountant and Business Advisor

David as an accountant has guided and developed the finacial side of the business throughout the years. David is part of the Oversight Management team with Ian Sumner and Donnelle Pilcher.

Andy Ryan - IT and Logistics

Andy is responsible for stock control, logistics and managing the IT side of the EcoSolar and SPLASH Monitoring. Andy has a strong background in Project Management of computer facilities and data centres and uses these strengths to great effect in his roles.

Phuong Le - IT and Development

As the IT and Development for EcoSolar and Splash Monitoring, Phuong is responsible managing the installation works and for programming and managing the SPLASH Monitoring controllers. Phuong has an ethical and harworking approach to ensure that customers needs are satisfied.

Debbie Fogarty - Accounts

Debbie is a qualified accountant that assists with all the day to day accounting and is responsible for the accounting for all three divisions of the business, from foriegn currency, year end accounts to payroll and GST.  Debbie is customer focused and manages customers needs.
